My kids have been running, jumping and throwing at Owairaka since 2013, and my brothers ran here sometime last century.
I've been a part of Owairaka Athletics for about 8 years. They've helped me grow into the determined sprinter I am today.

Until doing "Boot Camp" via work, had never run more than a 5k (reluctantly). Colleagues commented that I was quite quick...
Ko Maungahuka te Māunga. Ko Ruamahanga te awa. Ko ngati pakeha tōku iwi. Nō Wairarapa ahau. Ko Dion tōku ingoa.
I loved athletics when I was young and have been a lifelong runner myself (albeit a slow one).
Running is much more rewarding when you are part of a team - both racing in the Owai singlet and also training as a squad.
Running is one of my favourite things to do, I love how rewarding it can be, as well as the awesome community it brings with it.
